On this astonishing collection of 15 songs from the songbooks of Reinhardt and his contemporaries, Lagrene surrounds himself with a top-notch band recalling Django’s quintet of string instruments, which made a series of famous London sessions in the mid-1940s. The remarkable band musicians are: Florin Niculescu on violin, Holzmano Lagrene and Hono Winterstein on rhythm guitars, and Diego Imbert on bass. Pyrotechnic accordionist Richard Galliano also makes a guest appearance on two tracks.
