Originally from Duluth, Minnesota, Christine Hitt started her career as recording as a jingle singer. She has performed with Jeff Hamilton, Nick Brignola, Slide Hampton, Harry Allen, Steve Smith and opened for Tower of Power. Hitt is a published arranger with UNC Jazz Press, a judge for the National Guild of Piano Teachers and is currently the Director of Instrumental Music at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She has taught at Washington University, Concordia College, Minnesota State University-Moorhead and North Dakota State University. Under her direction, the Webster University Jazz Singers performed at the International Association of Jazz Educator’s conference in New Orleans.
